Hunting Muskingum County
Muskingum is hill country around Zanesville, with wooded ridges, old fields growing back to brush and plenty of reclaimed strip-mine ground.
Powelson Wildlife Area, four miles north of Zanesville, gives you 2,779 acres of woods, brush and old strip-mine ground. Scout it in daylight first, because the mine highwalls are rough to walk in the dark.
